#internetflags: Weaving Open Knowledge” is a prototyping and collaborative creation workshop for large-format banners featuring text messages. Using design thinking methodologies, we will connect the everyday experience of mobile internet with access to knowledge.
Today, our daily lives are inseparable from the use of connected digital devices. Mobile internet allows us to access and generate open knowledge (repositories, collaborative and citizen science platforms, academic research in accessible formats…). But what formats and narratives can guarantee an active and critical role for citizens? How can we prevent algorithmic logic and information overload from generating misinformation? What opportunities and challenges does digital ubiquity bring?
Coinciding with International Open Access Week, this free workshop open to the public will take place at the UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) headquarters in Barcelona. The created pieces will subsequently be exhibited in various locations across the city’s public spaces.
